21. Ahadiat Akashah

While writing this, suddenly I remembered of first ever novel that I read. It was ‘Pilot Cafe’ by Ahadiat Akashah. For those who don’t know him, he is one of the famous Malay novelist back in year 2000. I was 16 then. Yes, it’s all started after I join asrama (Boarding school) in year 2000. I have no interest in reading English book then, hmm..Probably you guys know ready by looking into my poor writing skill. Anyway, WHATEVER!

I don’t remember the exact date, but it was after our night prep and some girls already started to go to sleep when i approach Zamira, my dorm mate and she also my batch, just different class. I used to see Zamira and her sister reading novel and after lots of arguments within myself, I borrowed the book with condition that I have to return the next morning. So, that night after the light was off at 11pm, everyone has to sleep but I sneak to the nearest corridor and with that light, I read till 2am. That’s the max I can go. The next day, I returned the book with the hope to read the book till the end next time and that’s how I’m addicted. Till date I had read more than 50++ Malay novel. I stop reading after I finish study since lots of new coming stories are stereotype and change to read English novel instead.

Some of his best selling novel:

1. Lagenda Budak Setan
2. Kasyah
3. Katrina
4. Sayap-sayap Cinta
5. Pilot Cafe
6. Untuk gadis yang kucintai
7. Secangkir Kopi di Pilot Cafe
8. Hikayat Cinderella
He made record in Malaysian Book of Record for highest number of books written, 86 books in short span of time.  Latest, I heard some bad news in his personal life but still I know you ROCK!

20. Why am I always the one before The One?

Stop ogling at the picture or predict if it has anything to do with author of this blog. If I say no, will you believe me? I borrowed this book a month ago and yet to finish it. This morning I resume back reading after a week, with a little guilty feeling. I have abandoned reading a while, err… for quite some time ready actually. Last was a book called ‘Eat, Pray and Love' (highly recommended for girls) by Elizabeth Gilbert. So, ‘Why am I always the one before The One?’ Only you know why.  If the author of this blog knows it, surely you won’t be reading this as she may busy in the kitchen right now, cooking for her better half. What impress me most are the personal notes by author in the middle of story. Random pick (believe or not, somehow it’s true):

So what the story all about?
It’s about Charlotte Ward, who in her 27, with no money and prospects. Already a burden to parents and she too in Jane Austen speak, was yet to ‘command a high price in the marriage market’.  The story will tell you on Charlotte and her experience with guys till she found her beau. How the men arrives into her life, what she feel, her thoughts, what happen to the guys who dump her L and so on…Happy reading!

19. Beautiful and true

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born
A Death Certificate shows that we died
Pictures show that we lived!
Have a seat. Relax . . .
And read this slowly.

I Believe....

That just because two people argue,
It doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
It doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe....
That no matter how good a friend is,
They're going to hurt you every once in a while
And you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow,
Even over the longest distance.

Same goes for true love.
I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life.

 I Believe....
That it's taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with
Loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe....
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs
To be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe....
That my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
I Believe....
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down
Will be the ones to help you get back up
.

I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
But that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe....
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
And what you've learned from them and less to do with how many
Birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe....
That it isn't always enough,
To be forgiven by others.

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart is broken
The world doesn't stop for your grief

I Believe....
That our background and circumstances
May have influenced who we are,
But, we are responsible for who we become.
I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find
Out a secret. It could change your life Forever.

I Believe....
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of
Hours by people who don't even know you.
I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give,
When a friend cries out to you -
You will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall
Do not make you a decent human being.
I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life
Are taken from you too soon.

I Believe....
That we are responsible for what
We do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
The happiest of people don't necessarily
Have the best of everything;
They just make the most of everything they have.

18. Huminity

Just a thought......

A question that was posed to the Dalai Lama:

“What thing about humanity surprises you the most ?”

His answer was as follows:
...“Man”

Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money
Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health
And then he is so anxious about the future that he doesn't enjoy the present,
And as a result he doesn't live in the present or the future
And he lives as if he’s never going to die, and then he dies having
never really lived.

17. I want to be a TV....not too late to change!

A teacher from Primary School asks her students to write a essay about what they would like God to do for them...

At the end of the day, while marking the essays, she read one that made her very emotional.

Her husband, who had just walked in, saw her crying and asked her:- 'What happened?'

She answered- 'Read this. It's one of my students essays.'

'Oh God, tonight I ask you something very special: Make me into a television. I want to take its place:

Live like the TV in my house. Have my own special place, And have my family around ME. To be taken seriously when I talk....

I want to be the centre of attention and be heard without interruptions or questions. I want to receive the same special care that the TV receives when it is not working. Have the company of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is tired.

And I want my mom to want me when she is sad and upset, instead of ignoring me... And... I want my brothers to fight to be with me... I want to feel that family just leaves everything aside, every now and then, just to spend some time with me. And last but not least make it that I can make them all happy and entertain them...

Lord I don't ask you for much... I just want to live like every TV.'

At that moment the husband said:- 'My God, poor kid. What horrible parents!'

The wife looked up at him and said:- 'That essay is our son's!!!
